Šaškės - tai klasikinis strateginis žaidimas dviem žmonėms.
Kiekvienas žaidėjas stengiasi panaikinti visas priešininko judėjimo galimybes, gaudydamas arba blokuodamas jo figūrėles. Kiekvienas žaidėjas paeiliui perkelia vieną savo spalvotą figūrėlę į priekį į laisvą juodą kvadratą. Jei kvadratas užimtas priešininko figūra, bet
kvadratas už jo yra laisvas, žaidėjas gali peršokti priešininko figūrėlę ir ją užimti.
Laimi žaidėjas, kuris turi paskutinę figūrėlę ant žaidimo lentos.
