Šaškės - tai klasikinis strateginis žaidimas dviem žmonėms.
Kiekvienas žaidėjas stengiasi panaikinti visas priešininko judėjimo galimybes, gaudydamas arba blokuodamas jo figūrėles. Kiekvienas žaidėjas paeiliui perkelia vieną savo spalvotą figūrėlę į priekį į laisvą juodą kvadratą. Jei kvadratas užimtas priešininko figūra, o už jo esantis kvadratas yra laisvas, žaidėjas gali peršokti priešininko figūrą ir ją užimti.
Laimi žaidėjas, kurio figūrėlė ant žaidimo lentos yra paskutinė.
