Žaidėjai meta paeiliui, kaip pažymėta taškų skaičiuoklėje. Pirmasis žaidėjas meta Mölkky kėglį į kėglių grupę ir bando juos numušti. Mölkky kėglis visada turi būti metamas iš apačios. Jeigu nugriūva vienas kėglis, jūs gaunate tiek taškų, koks skaičius užrašytas ant to nugriuvusio kėglio. Jeigu nugriūva daugiau nei vienas kėglis, jūs gaunate tiek taškų, kiek yra nugriuvusių kėglių.
